Since the 3.2 release, Klynt allows you to display subtitles on videos. To do this you simply associate a .srt file to your videos in the media library, and then the Klynt player display them automatically.
Prepare your file before importing
Klynt only accepts .srt files, no other format will be recognized.
To ensure full compatibility, we recommend using the Amara.org platform to create and export files.
Associate .srt files
After importing your videos in the media library, open the 3rd panel, showing details of each video.
In the "subtitles" area, click the "add" button and browse your hard drive to where your file is and select it.
Once the operation is validated, the .srt file is automatically copied in the "medias" folder of your project.
Check the display in a browser
You can now test your subtitles are displayed well by importing a video into a sequence and viewing it in a browser. Please note that the subtitles are not displayed in the editor.
We recommend using Firefox to test the display locally. Chrome and Safari do only display the subtitles once your project is online.
Design and position subtitle texts
Now that your subtitles are displayed well, you can change their display style. For that, you simply go to your project settings> Design> Text Styles then select the style "Subtitle".
For more information on text styles, please visit the following page 8. Text Styles & Button Styles
Displaying or not the subtitle textsBy default if your video is linked to subtitles, they are automatically showing up when video is playing. To hide them you can click on the cc button on the right of the control bar, the button will turn grey, click again on the button to show subtitles.
