Klynt 1.1 (764) Release Notes - December 2, 2011

Player design customization available for its footer, buttons, menu and credits

The big change in this Klynt release is the possibility of changing the player design. You can now customize the player’s footer, buttons, menus, and credits page.
For all the elements, you can now choose the background color you want, the font of the texts used, and the color of the text.

Use Klynt on the computer of your choice

You can now remove Klynt from one computer to use it on another. To do that, first make sure you have your Klynt registration key, you can copy it once you go to Klynt>Register and then click on the “Unregister this computer button” to remove the Klynt license from the computer Klynt is installed on. Now you can install Klynt on any computer and use your key that is valid again.

Choose the size of your player before export

You can now change the size of the player directly from the settings under the player tab. In order for you to test your changes, you need to export your project and open the index.html page to see the size you selected.

More open-source fonts to customize your texts

We have added 13 new fonts to the Klynt « texts » list. (Fjord One, Bitter, Open Sans, Rammetto One, Nixie One, Abril Fatface, Sniglet, UnifrakturCook, Lobster, Bangers, Damion, Reenie Beanie, Quattrocento)
So now you can choose from this new list the typeface you want to use for your footer, buttons, menus, and credits page, and in order to facilitate your choice, the texts are displayed using their fonts so you can directly see their appearance.

Better management of special characters in file names

Special characters in file names may cause errors once the project is online; this depends on your hosting server. When you add files with special characters in their names, Klynt replaces these characters with accepted ones (ex: é is replaced by e)

Buttons no longer have a default position

While buttons were placed on the bottom right corner of the player by default in Klynt's previous versions, they are now placed on the top right corner of the player so you can directly select and move them around the stage area instead of changing their position to a "custom" position before moving them around.

Improved display of the audio loop options

Looping audio files was not clear in Klynt's previous version. Once you add an audio file to the timeline, you can check the “Expand and loop” option in the audio parameter window and drag the audio media by its end on the timeline so it loops for the duration of its time on the timeline.

Restriction of YouTube videos within the player area

For security reasons, if you place a YouTube video outside the player area, it does not play when you export your project, so we have disabled the option of placing YouTube videos outside the player area.

Improved display of subsequence thumbnails on the storyboard

Subsequence thumbnails did not show the whole image we chose to use as a thumbnail, we changed the sizes of subsequence thumbnails so that all the image shows.

New look and feel for the settings section

Klynt settings are now shown in a pop-up window instead of a new page.

Player loader centered any player size

When you change the size of the player, in previous Klynt versions, the loader in the Klynt player was not centered; now, no matter what size you choose your player to be, the loader is centered.
